North Jersey Spine Group is a new spine Center of Excellence specializing in back and neck pain. The center is a byproduct of discussions with case managers, rehab nurses and managed care experts on a local and national level who believe that spine care can be improved through a multi-disciplinary, Center of Excellence approach. This spine Center of Excellence includes 10,000 sf dedicated to spine, with a full exercise gym, spine-specialized physical therapy, a complete diagnostic center with digital X-ray and an injection suite. In the past, the back or neck pain sufferer often had to drive around North Jersey to multiple centers for all this complementary expertise, diagnostic capabilities and spine specialized therapy. Now we are able to provide it all under one roof for the convenience of the patient. By putting all the necessary ingredients for spine care under one roof, North Jersey Spine Group represents one of the most comprehensive spine centers in New Jersey.
As part of this effort to improve spine care, we are committed to a well-informed patient. We have a virtual encyclopedia on spine at www.NorthJerseySpineGroup.com that has symptom charts, medical illustrations and exercises that relieve back and neck pain. You are welcome to refer patients to that site for information. As a community service, we also provide a free 36-page Home Remedy Book that has been a godsend to more than a hundred thousand patients across the U.S.
Three months after the first visit an outside nurse, not associated with North Jersey Spine Group, calls a random sample of patients at home. The nurse then interviews patients on their satisfaction with the clinic experience. North Jersey Spine Group averaged 96% for all seven categories measured, with 98% of patients saying they would recommend the clinic to a friend. Dr. Haber and Dr. Sundstrom were both awarded the Marcus Welby Award for 2013 for being tied with a 100% rating in all three categories.
As a free community service, this Spine Center of Excellence mails out Home Remedy Books on a limited basis to residents in the region. Home remedy books include information about the spine center, instruction on how to use the exercise book, various exercises to help alleviate back and neck pain, and other home remedies.CLAIM YOUR FREE COPY
For those back and neck pain sufferers who have exhausted nonsurgical treatment options, spine surgery may be the next step in resolving a spine problem. Because spine surgery is a serious decision, it is a good idea to obtain a second opinion from a board-certified and fellowship-trained spine surgeon before undergoing surgery.GET A SECOND OPINION
The centers featured on Spine Center Network are the ONLY spine centers in the United States that collect and report clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction scores to external physician referral sources, employers, insurance company payors, case managers and consumers. Dating back to 1995, Prizm spine centers were the FIRST spine programs in the nation to produce and DISTRIBUTE Clinical Outcome Report Cards to external audiences. However, that is changing rapidly. With the proliferation of spine centers in the United States, and physicians and hospitals chasing after the lucrative spine patient, the race is on to publish outcomes for strategic advantage.
Prizm awards a Crystal Apple, entitled the Marcus Welby Award, for the doc who scores the highest for the three categories: time spent with the patient, medical explanation and genuine concern.
